                "মা" কথাটি ছোট্ট অতি, কিন্তু এর মাঝে যেন লুকিয়ে আছে অফুরন্ত মনিমুক্তা শোভিত ভালবাসা আর স্নেহ-মমতার গুপ্তধন। ঠিক যেন স্বর্গের অনুভূতি মর্তে পাওয়া। “মা” কি অদ্ভু্ত এক প্রতিধ্বনি! উচ্চারণ করলে বুকের ভেতর বয়ে চলে এক বিদ্যুৎতরঙ্গ, এ যেন এক সাইমুম ঝড়। মাকে নিয়ে যখন কিছু লিখব বলে ভাবছি,তখন কলমের নিব যেন মা আমার কথা শুনতে চাচ্ছে না। চোখের অশ্রু, বুকের রক্ত দিয়ে মা তোমার কথা লিখা যায়, কলমের কালি দিয়ে লিখতে গিয়ে তোমার যদি কোন অসম্মান করে ফেলি মা আমায় ক্ষমা করে দিও। তোমাকে নিয়ে কি কোন গল্প লিখা যায় মা তুমি বলো, তুমি তো সকল গল্প, কবিতা আর সাহিত্যের ঊর্ধ্বে।

 প্রভাতের লাল সূর্য দেখে যেমন আনন্দে উদ্বেলিত হয়ে উঠে আলোকিত পৃথিবী, ঠিক তেমনি আমার আগমনে আলোকিত হয়েছিল আমার “মা”, আমার নানা বাড়ির উঠোন। গগনবিদারি আর্তচিৎকা্র আর ক্রন্দনে যখন আমি একাকার তখন মায়ের মুখে আনন্দ অশ্রু। পৃথিবীতে এই একটি দৃশ্যই হইতবা একটু ব্যতিক্রম “যখন কিনা তার সন্তান কাঁদে আর তার মায়ের মুখে থাকে হাসি”। আমার আগমনে নানাজান কালবিলম্ব না করে আজান দিলেন। আজানের সু্মধুর সুর ভেসে আসল আমার কানে।আল্লাহু আকবার।। আল্লাহু আকবার।। মায়ের মুখে সুখের হাসি। 

তবে এই আনন্দের রেশ কাটতে না কাটতেই নানা বাড়িতে পড়ে গেল কান্নার রোল। প্রথম সন্তানের মত আমার বড় খালামনির দ্বিতীয় সন্তানটি মারা গেল এক অচেনা রোগে। সন্তানের শোক কে আর সইতে পারে? এভাবে দিনের পর দিনের অসম্ভব মানসিক যন্ত্রণায় কেমন জানি হয়ে গেল আমার দুধ মা। হ্যা, আমার দুধ মা। আমার খালাতো ভাইটি মারা যাবার পর আমিই হলাম তার সাত রাজার ধন। হারানো মানিক। মায়ের মুখ থেকে শুনেছি, খালা নাকি বলত, “বুইন রশনা আল্লাহ চাহে তো তোর তো আরও অনেক সন্তান হবে। আমি বরং ওকে কোলে পিঠে করে মানুষ করে আমার কাছে রেখে দেই”।আড়ালে গিয়ে অঝর ধারায় চোখের জল ছাড়লেও ,খালামনির মুখের দিকে তাকিয়ে মা আর না করতে পারে নাই। কিন্তু আড়ালে গিয়ে আমার মায়ের চোখের জল খুব বেশিদিন ফেলতে হয়নি,বড় খালার ঘর আলোকিত করে এসেছিল নতুন অতিথি। দুই নবীন অতিথির আগমনে এবং তাদের আদর আপ্যায়নে নানা বাড়িতে উৎসব উৎসব সাজ পড়ে গেল। 

ধীরে ধীরে আমতা আমতা করে “মা” মা,বা..বা...আবা..বাবা বলতে চেষ্টা করা। আলতো হাতে মাকে ছুঁইয়ে দেখা। বাবার হাত ধরে হাঁটতে চেষ্টা করা এভাবেই চলতে লাগল আমার শিশু কাল। অনেক সময় আবার হাটতে গিয়ে পড়ে গিয়ে সে কি কান্না। মা আমার যেখানেই থাকুক না কেন,আমার কান্না শুনে মুহূর্তের মধ্যে “সুপারম্যান” এর মত এসে মা আমাকে কোলে তুলে নিত,আদর করে জড়িয়ে নিত বুকের মাঝখানে। ভালবাসার পরশ বুলিয়ে ঘুম পারিয়ে দিত আমায়। দেখতে দেখতে এক বছর পার হয়ে গেল,নানাজানের ভয় ছিল আমার না জানি আবার কোন অজানা অসুখ হয়। নানাজান ও এজন্য আমায় সবসময় চোখে চোখে রাখত। আল্লাহর রহমতে বড় কোন অজানা অসুখে আমার পড়তে হয়নি শিশুকালে। 

এরপর আমি খাট,টেবিল কিম্বা কোন অবলম্বন ধরে হাঁটতে চেষ্টা করি। মা সমসময় আমার পাশে পাশে থাকতো। একদিন আমি ঘরের ভেতর খেলা করছিলাম,বাবাও বাড়িতে ছিলনা,মা রান্নাঘরে হেঁসেলে ভাত-তরকারি তুলে দিয়েছিল। আমিও বিভিন্ন অবলম্বন ধরে ধরে বাইরে চলে এসেছিলাম। রান্নাঘরের পাশেই ছিল তুসের স্তুপ। আমি তুসের স্তুপ ধরে দাড়িয়ে থাকার চেষ্টা করছিলাম। এক পর্যায়ে তুশের স্তুপ ধরে ঝাকুনি দিতেই তুসের এক বস্তা হেসেলের উপর পড়ে গেল।অমনি গরম ভাতের মাড় আর আগুনের ফুলকি এসে আমার গায়ে পড়ল। আমার পুরো পিঠ পুরে গেল। আহ! সেকি যন্ত্রণা । আমি তো চিৎকার করে বেহুস হয়ে পড়ে গেলাম। মা আমাকে ধরে নিয়ে গিয়ে পিঠে পানি ঢালল। সেই সময় আবার ছিল মাঘ মাস। পানিও ভীষণ ঠাণ্ডা। সেই পরিস্থিতি ছিল যে কেমন ছিল তা এক কথায় অবর্ণনীয়। আব্বাজান,ডাক্তার কবিরাজ নিয়ে এসে যথাসাধ্য চেষ্টা করলেন। নানাজান জায়নামাজে বসে পড়লেন। আমার দেহের সামনের অংশ না পুড়ে গেলেও আমার পিঠের অনেকখানি অংশ পুড়ে গিয়েছিল।পিঠ পুড়ে যাবার ফলে আমি সোজা হয়ে ঘুমাতে পারতাম না,উপুর হয়ে আমাকে ঘুমাতে হত। সে বছর শীতও জেঁকে বসেছি্ল বেশ। দিনের বেলা আমার খালা,নানাজানরা কোলে নেবার ফলে আমার আম্মাজানের কিছুটা আরাম হত। কিন্তু রাতের বেলা আমার মা,আমার জনম দুঃখিনী মা তার বুকের ভেতর আমার জন্য বিছানা করে দিত।।একদিকে প্রচণ্ড শীত অন্যদিকে আমার পিঠের সাথে যেন কাথা না লাগে সেই দিকেও মাকে মনোযোগ দিতে হচ্ছে সারাক্ষন।কনকনে শীতের রাতে,আমাকে বু্কের মাঝে রেখে,দুই পায়ের পাতার সাথে কাঁথাটা শক্ত করে ধরে রাখত মা যেন আমার পুড়ে যাওয়া পিঠে কাঁথার কোন স্পর্শ না লাগে,এজন্য সারাটা রাত হাত দিয়ে কাঁথাটি উঁচু করে ধরে রাখত। কখনো যদিওবা ক্লান্তিতে মার চোখটা বুজত,আর অসাবধানতায় কাঁথাটার স্পর্শ লাগত,সাথে সাথেই আমার চিৎকারে মার ঘুম ভেঙ্গে যেত। আর মা আরও সতর্কভাবে কাঁথাটা ধরে রাখত। এভাবে প্রায় একটি মাস মা কনকনে শীতের রাতে আমাকে ঘুম পাড়িয়ে নিজে না ঘু্মিয়ে রাত পার করত। না ঘুমাতে ঘুমাতে মায়ের চোখের নিচে কালো হয়ে যায়। কত রাত যে, মাকে ভেজা কাপড় পড়ে শুইয়ে থাকতে হত তার ইয়ত্তা নাই। এই মায়ের ঋণ আমি কি দিয়ে শোধ করব কেউ বলতে পারে্ন? এরকম কতশত হাজারও ত্যাগের কথা যা বলে শেষ করা যাবেনা।

 আল্লাহ কোরআনে এরশাদ করেন,
 “আমি মানুষকে (তাদের) পিতা-মাতার ব্যাপারে নির্দেশ দিয়েছি (যেন তারা তাদের সাথে ভালো ব্যবহার করো, কেননা), তার মা কষ্টের পর কষ্ট সহ্য করে তাকে গর্ভে ধারণ করেছে এবং দুই বছর পরই সে (সন্তান) বুকের দুধ খাওয়া ছেড়েছে, তুমি (তোমার নিজের সৃষ্টির জন্য) আমার শোকর আদায় করো এবং তোমার (লালন পালনের জন্য) পিতামাতারও কৃতজ্ঞতা আদায় করো; (অবশ্য তোমাদের সবাইকে) আমার কাছেই ফিরে আসতে হবে।    (সুরাঃ লোকমান, আয়াতঃ১৪)। 

 “রাসুল (সা এর কাছে এক সাহাবি এসে জিজ্ঞাসা করলো, আমার বাবা মা দুইজন বেঁচে আছেন আমি আগে কার হক আদায় করব? রাসুল(সা) বললেনঃ তোমার মায়ের, সাহাবি জিজ্ঞেস করলো এরপর কার? রাসুল বললেন, তোমার মায়ের, সাহাবি আবারও জিজ্ঞাস করলেন, এরপর কার? রাসুল বললেন, তোমার মায়ের। সাহাবি আবারও জিজ্ঞেস করলেন এরপর কার?রাসুল বললেন, তোমার বাবার”। (আল হাদিস) ।
 “রাসুল আরও বলেন, মায়ের পায়ের নিচে সন্তানের বেহেসত (আল-হাদিস)”।
পৃথিবীর সবকিছুর বিনিময় দিয়েও মায়ের ঋণ শোধ করা যাবে না।
